Who we are
Doug's Property Maintenance (Douglas Harris, trading as Doug's Property Maintenance) is a fencing, gates and property maintenance business operating across Clevedon, Portishead and North Somerset. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us on 07976 165908.
What we collect
- Your name, phone number and email address when you submit a quote request.
- Details of the work you describe to us, including the property address if you give it.
- Basic technical information such as your browser type and pages visited, used only to keep the site working.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote.
- To carry out and invoice for the work you ask us to do.
- To keep records required by law, including waste transfer documentation.
We rely on your consent when you contact us, and on our legitimate interest in running the business and answering enquiries. We do not use your details for marketing without asking you first, and we never sell your information.
Sharing
We only share information where it is necessary — for example with suppliers to order materials for your job, with licensed waste facilities to produce a proof of disposal, or with our insurer or accountant. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Quote enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Records of completed work, invoices and waste transfer notes are kept for at least six years to meet tax and environmental requirements.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Contact us on 07976 165908 and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
Enquiry details are kept on password-protected devices and accounts. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
