Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to quotes given and work carried out by Doug's Property Maintenance, and to your use of this website.

Quotes
Quotes are free and are based on the site as inspected or described. They remain valid for 30 days. If ground conditions, access or the scope of work turn out to be materially different, we will discuss any change with you before continuing.
Booking and access
Work is booked by mutual agreement on dates. Please ensure the working area is clear and accessible, and that pets and children can be kept safely away while work is in progress. Where a boundary is shared, it is your responsibility to agree the work with your neighbour and to confirm the boundary line.
Services and services below ground
You must tell us about any buried cables, pipes or drainage runs in the working area before we start. We take reasonable care, but we cannot accept liability for damage to unmarked underground services.
Payment
For larger jobs a deposit may be requested to cover materials. The balance is due on completion unless agreed otherwise in writing. Invoices are payable within 7 days.
Cancellation
Where you engage us away from our business premises you have 14 days to cancel. If you ask for work to begin within that period, and then cancel, you may be charged for work already carried out and for materials cut or ordered to your specification.
Workmanship and materials
Work is carried out to a good standard using quality materials. Timber is a natural product: movement, splitting, knots and colour change over time are normal and are not defects. Manufacturer guarantees on materials are passed on to you where they apply. Please report any issue with our workmanship promptly so we can put it right.
Waste
Where we remove waste from your project it is disposed of legally under our Environment Agency waste carrier registration (CBDU646005), and a proof of disposal is available on request.
Insurance and liability
We hold £5m public liability and £5m employers' liability insurance. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

Complaints and governing law
If something is not right, please call 07976 165908 so we can resolve it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
